Happy Mother's Day!!!

Mother’s Day weekend was wonderful.  I spent Saturday afternoon with the bestie (Kendall).  He was planning on being in Houston Sunday so he stopped by with flowers for my early Mother’s Day gift.  So sweet.  Then after much convincing he agreed to buy me a new Coach purse this coming week.  Yay!!!  Super excited about that.  I know…he spoils me way too much but I love it.
My actual Mother’s Day was fabulous.  I ended up taking my mom to lunch with Meghan, Adrianna, & Makenna.  The girls had fun playing with each other and it made me realize we need to get them together more often.  They are both so sweet.  Lunch was delicious.  We went to Dos Salas in Georgetown.  Yum!  I can’t speak for all the food but I had the beef fajitas and they were super good.  If you’re ever up north you should try it.  Makenna’s recital was that afternoon.   She as expected did not dance at all.  Instead she stood on the stage and looked up, down, all around as if she was completely oblivious to the dance going on. Lol…we knew that would happen.  It drove my mom crazy.  She is the perfect candidate for Toddlers and Tiaras.  Definitely a crazy stage mom.  I just laughed.  That’s all you really can do at that point.  Just seeing Makenna all dressed up was enough to make me smile.  Her last dance she seemed much more excited about.  I was confident she would finally perform.  Wrong………lol.  Mid way she randomly decided to strip out of her tutu.  Then after twirling it around she threw it.  The whole crowd began to laugh at my adorable little girl.  Normally she loves being the center of attention but the laughter was a little much for her so she ended the dance crying up on stage.  All we could do was shake our heads.  Crazy stage mom (grandma) was super embarrassed.  Lol…never a dull moment with my little one.
Ended the evening with my mom, Scott, Justin, Britt, Mak & Les.  Scott made steaks, asparagus, & potatoes.  Again, another YUM-tastic meal.  All in all a great weekend.  Now if only I could get more excited about tackling Monday….

Morning WakeUp Call

Was woken up this morning from a text from Makenna’s daddy.  He was going to be heading out of town for a week but wanted to stop by and see her before she went to daycare. At first I was irritated bc let’s face it, I’m not a morning person but once he got there my mood really improved.  It was nice having him there first thing when she woke up, eating breakfast together and just spending time with our daughter.  Trying to tackle brushing that crazy hair of hers and chasing her around to get her ready was more enjoyable with his help.  I’m hoping with time co-parenting will get even easier.  Our relationship is in a much better place than it was.  The only problem would be our communication when we have disagreements.  He still explodes, however I’ve finally learned to chill out.  When he gets mad and starts saying things I know he doesn’t mean I just let it go and ignore him.  That’s a first.  My old self would fight right back and say things even meaner than he had in order to hurt his feelings.  Extremely childish but he has just always had a way of getting under my skin.  He said today that we both know exactly what to say/do to drive the other crazy and he couldn’t have been more right.  The fact that we have so much love for each other is a gift and a curse.  It’s great when it comes to making up but when we’re fighting it adds so much emotion that our agreements can be very heated.  Still, we’re both continuing to make progress and always keep the most important person first, Makenna.  =)

Mayweather vs Cotto

My plans with a friend got cancelled so I decided to order the fight Saturday night.  Kendall came over to see Makenna but ended up staying once I wasn’t hanging out with my friend.  Glad he decided to stay bc he definitely helped put me in a better mood.  We ended up going to dinner so I missed the first fight but the last two were great.  Alvarez vs Mosley and Mayweather vs. Cotto.  Alvarez vs Mosley was an interesting match up.  Alvarez is only 21 while Mosley will turn 41 in September.  Poor thing gave everything he had but ultimately was defeated by Alvarez.  I’m wondering if he will retire now.  It’s definitely time before he adds anymore losses.  Mayweather took Cotto’s title, as expected but not without a fight.  It was nice seeing Mayweather a little out of his element for once.  When he started bleeding you could tell he was shocked and for once seemed slightly nervous.  Still, everytime Cotto got in a good jab Mayweather would smile and shake his head as if he was saying, “That didn’t hurt.  That’s nothing.”  Ugh!  I can’t stand his arrogant ass.  However I can’t say too much because he really is that good.  It’s like Kobe Bryant, as much as you want to hate him you can’t deny his talent.  Anyhow, great fight night at the house.  Spent Sunday afternoon relaxing and texting back and forth with a certain someone that has been on my mind a lot lately.  Overall, a great weekend.
